How to Recognize Expiration Dates in Career and In Life
Sep 05, 2023Have you ever felt an expiration date looming in your life? That moment when you sense that the path you're on might not be taking you where you truly want to go. I know I have. It was a pivotal moment in my career when I realized that if I didn't take action, I would be stuck in a cycle that no longer served me.
As I logged on to yet another monotonous Zoom call, I couldn't help but wear a fake smile.
I had just returned from my daily hour-long walk, a ritual to maintain my sanity amidst the daily grind. My mind teetered between two contrasting thoughts: "I despise this job" and "Elisha, why can't you appreciate this incredible, life-altering opportunity?" Truth be told, after 25 years in healthcare, I had reached a breaking point. The mere idea of joining another call was insufferable.
So, I started skipping them—more frequently than I'd like to admit.
Life is always trying to communicate with us. It whispers, nudges, and sometimes shouts. I've come to firmly believe this. For a while, the Universe had been whispering "change direction" to me, but I remained uncertain about how to disentangle myself. After all, my work had become so entwined with my identity.
As my discontent grew, it began to seep into my work.
I rarely prepared for meetings, and sometimes, I didn't even show up. My personal life suffered too. I began to spend time with people who weren't healthy for me, and I indulged in unhealthy habits like overdrinking. It was as though I had transitioned from a life of excellence to one marked by repeated embarrassments, especially at work. I was grasping for a lifeline.
In the midst of this tumultuous period, my self-confidence dwindled.
I found myself yearning for a lifeline, a means to regain control over my life. Then, on a lazy Saturday morning while journaling, life whispered two words into my soul. I hastily scribbled them down: Crown Resonance.
I had no clue what that meant, but it felt good when I said it out loud.
And so, I began to define it. Crown Resonance. It’s not just a phrase; it's a state of being. It's the profound awareness that, like the finest tuning fork, we possess an innate capacity to resonate with the frequencies of our true potential. It's recognizing that our lives are filled with expiration dates, not just in the groceries we buy but, in the opportunities, experiences, and paths we choose.
Picture this:
A tuning fork hums with a clear, resonant tone when it's struck in harmony with its natural frequency. Similarly, our lives hum with purpose and fulfillment when we align ourselves with our true callings. But much like that fork, we can become muffled, stifled by the noise of routines and responsibilities, by the expectations of others, and by the fear of change.
I began to move with Crown Resonance awareness.
It hasn't been a neat transformation but a series of gritty choices and realizations that led me to step away from corporate life for good. I launched my own business, tripled my monthly income, and charted a course toward a life where I truly feel in resonance with my purpose.
But wait!
It's important to clarify that I didn't make a grand exit from my corporate job, fueled by newfound entrepreneurial prowess. In fact, it was a rather abrupt exit, courtesy of a layoff that caught me off guard. If not for that twist of fate, I might very well still be tethered to that familiar office chair, earning a fraction of what I do today (which, by the way, is a substantial upgrade).
The transition wasn't a seamless leap into successful entrepreneurship.
It involved stumbling through various business ventures over the years, often ending up with a face full of metaphorical mud. The reality is, I'm still on that journey, diligently working to fine-tune my business acumen.
You see, a significant portion of my current income doesn't originate from a bustling storefront or a thriving tech startup. Instead, it flows from the dynamic currents of the stock market. It's an area where I've honed my skills over the years. I learned how to master my finances and take control of my precious time. So…
It wasn't a miraculous transformation, but rather a series of falls and rises, experiments, and lessons.
My journey has been about embracing change, taking calculated risks, and learning from each stumble along the way. And it all plays a part in the symphony of Crown Resonance, where mastering your money and owning your time are integral notes in the composition of a fulfilling life.
There’s so much I want to share, so stay tuned.
In the upcoming articles, I'll delve deeper into the principles of Crown Resonance, exploring practical strategies for recognizing your own expiration dates, making bold choices, and creating a life of authentic success. Stay tuned for a journey that's as real as it gets, where change isn't packaged neatly but unfolds naturally, just like the resonance of a perfectly tuned tuning fork.
